| Having been involved in the sport for nearly 20yrs, success has been a long time coming for Rosemary. Whilst having achieved success during junior competitions such as national 200m and 400m u/20 champion for many years, and dual bronze medallist at world junior championships, it was hard to find success among the senior rankings. However all that changed at the 2006 Commonwealth Games where Rosemary’s persistence and dedication to the sport paid off with Rosemary being the only Australian to qualify to the 400m final. Additionally she was the anchor runner in the Gold medal wining 4×400m relay team featuring Jana Pittman, Tamsyn Lewis and Caitlyn Willis. Following her success at the 2006 Commonwealth Games Rosemary then competed in the IAAF Osaka Grand Prix race in Japan and won a bronze medal. In September this year Rosemary was the individual runner to represent Oceania in the World Cup event held in Athens, Greece. Rosemary, along with her dedication to sport has always maintained the importance of having a balance between sport and education. Rosemary has recently completed a teaching degree at the University of Newcastle whilst training hard so that she may be able to represent Australia in the 2007 World Championships in Japan and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
